My documents, either digital or in the traditional paper, are always a mess. Having that and the fact that I need to be more organized in mind, I thought about a system that could help in the difficult task.
Software like Where is it^© or Argentium MyFiles^© lock me in their closed format and in that they work only for windows systems, therefore I intend to create a file cataloger that is able to use any DBMS and the SQL language and that is platform independent. This led me to the idea of creating my own software and now have the chance to transform the idea into reality by proposing it as a course project.

In the second school semester of 2007/2008 the project was submitted as my course's final project and was renamed JFindMyFiles. The project was developed under the guidance of a teacher from March to July, ending with a public presentation and discussion.

Currently the project is being developed by me alone, there are a lot of bugs and much of the code will be rewritten, you can follow it's development at http://jfindmyfiles.berlios.de.
