GNU Linux

Linux users are used to getting most, if not all, their software from some repository, usually the distro's official repository that features a software list bigger than any list I can put together. Nevertheless, here are the GNU Linux specific applications I use.

Video Editing

Kino
Non-linear DV editor for GNU/LIux. The best editor I found that can integrate with IEEE-1394 for capture, VTR control, and recording back to the camera. It captures video to disk in Raw DV and AVI format, in both type-1 DV and type-2 DV (separate audio stream) encodings.
